The Collie Club of Spain
Firstly I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge their 30th
Anniversary Show,
the hospitality was second to none and I thank Frank
for being the host with the most and the
tour of Madrid and to Joseph for being our driver
getting us from A to B.
The qualities of the Bearded Collies are very good overall, I only found 3 that
I felt warranted the
grade of very good for construction faults. Breed type
and characteristics were super, coat
condition and muscular condition were of a good
standard. I had to make allowances with
movement due to the slippery floor, had the weather
been better to us, I’m sure to see these dogs
move outside would have been much better. There were
some super youngsters that will go on to
produce the next generation of very good Bearded
Collies.
My Best
of Breed was a great male, Firstprizebears Dillon, a dog with great ring
presence, fully
mature and in his prime. Has the darkest eye and full
black pigment, correct dentition and balanced
in scull and foreface. Strong elegant neck that fits
into very good shoulders, he has a well developed
forechest with ribs of the correct length and shape,
short strong loin, firm in topline standing and
moving, angulation front and rear and in croup was just
right. Excelled on the move with a great
length of stride with very little effort that just
covered the ground with ease. I was delighted that he
was awarded RBIS.
Best
Bitch was the brown, Brown Sugar De Mavalsaur, ultra feminine with a beautiful
eye colour
and brown pigment, balanced in head, elegant neck that
impressed when looking at her outline.
Very good angulation front and rear, long ribs and
short firm loin, straight topline she kept at all
times, moved with an effortless ground covering stride.
Best Puppy was Firstprizebears James Dean, a masculine pup with great substance,
for me he has
too much coat and will look better when his coat
settles and displays his very good shape. In very
good condition and construction was fine, he did move
better outside, the floor inside did bother
him. Good eye colour and pigment and maturing at the
right pace.
CAC Dog went to Firstprizebears Enfield, mature dog who displayed a great
outline, free stood
and very natural, has a great head and so typical in
his expression, very good construction
throughout , in good coat and condition, he just didn’t
match Dillon on the move.
CAC Bitch went to a super young bitch who’s head and expression just captivated
me, her eye
colour was fantastic as was her pigment, broad under
jaw without being coarse. Super coat and
muscular condition, very good shoulders and front,
correct rib and loin ratio’s with the correct
tail set and croup, moved with reach and drive, just
right for size for me, one that would fit just
right into my kennel.
